The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation makes
grants to program-related, non-profit
research institutions to promote research in chemistry and the life
sciences, broadly interpreted, and particularly to foster the invention
of methods, instruments, and materials that will open up new avenues
of research in science. The Foundation
does not consider proposals that fall outside of these programs.

THE BECKMAN FELLOWSHIPS AT CALTECH
The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Fellowships at Caltech,
which grew out of a program initially funded by the Arnold
and Mabel Beckman Foundation in 2000, is intended to identify,
support and help develop the next generation of outstanding scientists,
who demonstrate the highest levels of excellence in their accomplishments,
capacity for independent work, and ability to compete for the most
prestigious academic and other positions. Beckman Fellows
are appointed for a term of up to three years to carry out a research
program in fundamental fields of biology, chemistry and related
sciences, in affiliation with one or more existing programs in the
Beckman Institute or other research groups at Caltech. Applications
are due in early January of each year, with recipients usually notified
by March or April. Additional details about the program and
the application process may be found on the following website:
